Life (Pro)Scripts
Supporting Human Resource Professionals and Managers
Human Resources departments deal with multiple levels of fear, anxiety and disappointment every day. Especially now, in a dramatically changing economy.
At the executive level, in work-teams and in individual offices, the Life (Pro)Scripts program relieves pressure, resolves blocked issues and makes way for clear, productive communication.

Case Studies
“I thought I was on fire!”
I use concrete language tools to help clients both identify and resolve old patterns of thought and behavior that keep them stuck in unproductive patterns. One such client had a debilitating fear of authority that caused her to be avoidant and ineffective at work. So ineffective that her performance reviews suggested that her job was in jeopardy.
Through a structured, four-step process, she learned to identify the difference between discomfort and disaster and to keep an appropriate perspective while dealing with her supervisors. She called one day, highly emotional. I thought she was crying and ‘armored up’ to help. I soon realized however, that she was actually laughing with joy.
“I was about to go into a meeting with my boss and I could barely breathe. Then I remembered to use the ‘fire’ tool you taught me and everything changed. I even got to see that my boss was as worried about the project as I was! It helped us to work together to make a good plan. Thank you so much!!”
“Things are getting out of control.”
I was called to facilitate an emergency diversity workshop at a Maryland university after racial unrest erupted immediately following the last presidential election.
The meeting was a terrific success and, interestingly, we never actually used the word ‘diversity’. Instead, the audience was challenged in interactive exercises to explore what causes individuals to strike out in fear. Through personal and cultural examples, participants identified what caused them to feel threatened by what was going on around campus and how they could individually and collectively change the dynamic. We used the real-time outbursts of audience members as competency building, teaching moments. They left with specific exercises and principles to practice in their daily lives and spontaneously committed to gathering in small groups to deepen their understanding and practice new skills.
